Mark Emsley – Satellite Heart
With it always enjoyable to explore the varied landscape of pop rock, another rewarding discovery has arisen with the release of Satellite Heart. It is the new single from singer songwriter MARK EMSLEY and a track that easily commanded attention with its rousing choruses and expressive guitar craft around evocative lyrical contemplation.
Emsley has been involved in the music industry for a long time having worked as a product demonstrator for companies including Fender, Line 6 and Hughes & Kettner. His own songwriting, emerged renewed after what is described as a major turning point in his life “after getting clean and sober” in 2024. Subsequent songs have dealt with themes such as relationships, loss, recovery, hope, and starting again, reflecting that turbulent but rejuvenating time.
His recent work with his solo project has found support from and ventured into collaborations with renowned musicians including Phil Solem of THE REMBRANDTS and Guy Griffin of THE QUIREBOYS. Satellite Heart suggests a host of reasons why his music is finding such keen attention and is sure to spark plenty more with its infectious enterprise and virulently involving energy.
From its first stirrings, the song is a guitar and vocal tempting that could not be ignored and once its big wind of a chorus broke, involvement here was eagerly given. There are some songs that simply command participation and Satellite Heart is one of them with its guitar tendrils, flames, and enterprise only adding to a pleasure that linger swell after its final note.
Satellite Heart is out now.
