UK-based singer-songwriter Mark Emsley is lifelong musician who’s spent decades working throughout the music industry and is now creating music that’s tells his own story. Built around guitar-driven rock energy cut with pop appeal, big choruses and compelling lyrics, his music comes from a place of experience, with every song carrying a personal context.

Honesty and candid songwriting have become particularly important during a new chapter in Mar’s life and after getting clean and sober in October 2024, he returned his focus to writing and recording his own material, turning towards songwriting as a way of putting real experiences into words. Working with producer Karl Morey, he’s developed a catalogue that explores love, loss, heartbreak, recovery and hope, allowing those experiences to shape music that remains melodic and accessible while keeping sight of its emotional themes.

The philosophy behind the project is uncomplicated but powerful; Mark wants every lyric to come from his life and every song to be a meaningful expression. He views the value of writing as ultimately measured by whether something he creates can mean something to somebody else and that connection sits at the centre of his work. This year he opened this new chapter with his debut solo single “Wish I Could Hate You,” which he’s since followed up with a trio of songs while expanding his musical output.

Now he brings us his latest release with his brand new single titled “Satellite Heart,” revealing a brighter and more pop-focused side to his sonic vision. Upbeat and guitar-driven, the track brings together the energy of melodic rock with the accessibility of modern pop, centred around a huge melodic chorus that’s sure to leave a lasting impression.

Produced once again with Karl Morey, the track blends stacked guitars, a strong melody, an energetic arrangement and an engaging vocal performance, resulting in a charming musical moment that’s impossible not to love. Opened by the punch of snapping drums and intricate guitar notes, the arrangement flows with pulsing instrumentation and smooth vocal leads spinning instantly memorable melodic leads carrying heartfelt lyrics.
